[NL] Bellewaerde Kerst, een erg gezellig wintereve [NL] Bellewaerde Kerst, een erg gezellig winterevenement in Bellewaerde, doorheen het park zie je overal kerstbomen, lichtjes en andere decoraties. Achteraan het park, dichtbij Screaming Eagle, staat voor de gelegenheid een spiegeltent. Een extra, verwarmde en leuk versierde, horecalocatie waar je iets drinken of eten. Wij kiezen voor de loaded fries(Flemish en Poutine). We krijgen een goed gevuld bakje met lekkere saus, jammer genoeg waren de frietjes minder goed gebakken, we denken omdat ze iedereen sneller wouden bedienen… Wel erg vriendelijk personeel!! [ENG] Bellewaerde Christmas, a very nice wintertime event at Bellewaerde, trough out the park you’ll find christmas trees, many lights and other decorations. At the back of the park, near Screaming Eagle, there is a special wintertime drink and dine location, the food palace. A heated magic mirror tent where you can get hot and cold drinks, waffles, pancakes and loaded fries. We tried the Flemish fries and Poutine. A nice, big, portion topped off with delicious sauces. [NL] Het tweede item die ons werd aangeraden waren [NL] Het tweede item die ons werd aangeraden waren de “Smash Burgers”. Op verschillende locaties verkopen ze deze lekkernijen. Wij kozen de locatie aan het water en gingen voor de “Smash Cheese with fries” en “Smash Vegan”. De “Smash Cheese” was lekker sappig met veel gesmolten kaas erbovenop en een lekkere saus op een brioche. De frietjes erbij waren heerlijk krokant gebakken maar naar eigen smaak iets te zout. De “Smash Vegan” had een goeie structuur, was lekker gebakken maar had niet de sappigheid die degene met vlees wel had, iets meer saus zou dat probleem oplossen. Ook de veganistische kaas was niet genoeg gesmolten waardoor je niet helemaal hetzelfde effect had als bij de “Smash Cheese”. Goed dat ze een vegan-optie aanbieden maar de uitwerking kon net iets beter. ➡️ swipe voor meer foto’s 📸🍔🍟 [ENG] The second item that was recommended to us were the “Smash Burgers”. These are sold at several places troughout the park. We tried the “Smash Cheese with fries” and “Smash Vegan” at the location near the waterfront. The “Smash Cheese” was nice and juicy with lots of gooey cheese on top and a nice tangy and garlicky sauce on a brioche bun. The fries were golden and crispy but a bit salty for our taste. The “Smash Vegan” had a great texture, nice sear on the outside but missed the juiciness of the “Smash Cheese”. A bit more sauce would solve this “problem”. The vegan cheese on the burger also missed that gooey texture. Some brands of vegan cheese can surely achieve that cheese pull. Een platbrood met deeg op basis van aardappel die gefrituurd wordt en dan belegd. Er is keuze uit zowel zoet als hartig beleg. Wij gingen voor “Skagen”. Na het frituren werd het broodje besmeerd met knoflookolie en zure room, bestrooid met rode uitjes en afgewerkt met garnalensalade, dille en citroen. Een lekker, verrassend lichte, snack die we zeker ook aanraden! [ENG] Gröna Lund, a place filled with charm, history, great rides and delicious food. When we asked what the must-eats at this park were they recommended “Langos”, a flat bread where the (potato-based) dough is fried and topped with sweet or savory items. We chose the savory “Skagen”. After frying they brushed the flatbread with garlic oil and sour cream then topped it off with diced red onions, shrimpsalad, dill and lemon. [NL] Heb jij de nieuwe “wafelburger” al geprobeerd [NL] Heb jij de nieuwe “wafelburger” al geprobeerd in Walibi Belgium? Sinds dit seizoen vind je deze nieuwe snack bij Western Fries. Het broodje is eigenlijk een wafel met daartussen drie flinke stukken gepaneerde kip, gekarameliseerde ui(die overigens koud was), sla en saus. Een best grote portie waarvoor je best even neerzit. Niet de beste walk-around snack… [ENG] Did you already try the new “Waffle Burger” at Walibi Belgium? You can get this snack at Western Fries in the “Adventure World” area of the park. This twist on a classic burger takes a Waffle as the sandwich with three chicken tenders as the meat component, lettuce and caramilised onion(wich was cold when we tried it). Het pitta-achtige brood is rijkelijk gevuld met gekruide kip, red root relish(rode bier, gekarameliseerde ui en jalapeño) en ranch dressing. De zoete smaak van de relish, het romige van de ranchdressing en kruidige van de kip vullen elkaar perfect aan en het brood is perfect krokant geroosterd. Het broodje kost 9,5 euro en is volgens ons groot genoeg als maaltijd. Wat we hier missen is een menu-optie waarbij je het broodje gecombineerd met een drankje kan kopen aan een voordelige prijs. Wie van plan is Bellewaerde te bezoeken dit jaar raden wij aan het “Chicken Tinga Pocketbread” te proberen, het is samen met de empanada’s in Mundo Amazonia ons favoriete eten in Bellewaerde. [ENG] The star of the show at “Bengali Snacks” is the “Chicken Tinga Pocketbread”. It comes in a pitta like bread filled with spiced chicken, red root relish(red beets, caramelised onion, jalapeño) and ranch dressing. The sweetness of the relish, the creaminess of the dressing and the spiced chicken complement each other perfectly and the bread is nice and crispy. This sandwich sets you back 9,5 euros, not the cheapest but in our opinion a portion bug enough to count as a meal. What we were missing is a combo option to buy the sandwich with a drink for a cheaper price. [NL] “Bengali Snacks” heeft naast frisdranken, bie [NL] “Bengali Snacks” heeft naast frisdranken, bier van de tap, pannenkoeken, wafels en ijsjes ook een arsenaal aan ovenhapjes, worstenbrood, Boa buns en Chicken Tinga Pocketbread. De laatste twee wekten onze interesse en we proberen de Bombay BBQ Boa en Chicken Tinga pocketbroad. De Bombay BBQ Boa kost 9 euro en is belegd met redelijk wat pulled pork in een BBQ-saus, komkommer, wortel en mangosaus. Het geheel smaakt eerder zoet, zowel door de mango als door de BBQ-saus en er mag naar onze smaak dus nog een iets hartiger of neutraler element bij. Nog wat groenten zoals sla en/of tomaat zouden het geheel volledig af maken. [ENG] “Bengali Snacks” serves canned sodas, beers on tap, crêpes, Belgian Waffles, ice creams as well as a variety of oven snacks, sausage rolls, boa buns and Chicken Tinga Pocketbroad. The last two items peaked our interest so we decided on trying the Bombay BBQ boa and the Chicken Tinga Pocketbread. The Bombay BBQ Boa costs 9 euros en looks small at first glance. But the serving of pulled pork is generous and is topped off with BBQ-sauce, cucumber, carrots and mango-sauce. The bun tastes very sweet, particularly because of the mango and BBQ-sauce. Uiteraard zijn we benieuwd of we een ritje kunnen maken in Amazonia maar toch was er iets anders wat onze aandacht trok… Namelijk de vervanger voor “Bengal Kiosk”. Dat horecapunt maakt na jaren plaats voor “Bengali Snacks”. Het kleurrijke etablissement trekt meteen je aandacht als je aangewandeld komt en de verschillende terrassen nodigen uit om even uit te rusten onder het genot van een drankje, pannenkoek, ijsje of 1 van de nieuwe specialiteiten die ze bij “Bengali Snacks” aanbieden. Stay Tune! Want uiteraard testen we straks een aantal zaken uit. [ENG] Today we sail from Dock World at Walibi Belgium to Bellewaerde. While many visitors flock to Mundo Amazonia hoping to make a splash on Amazonia we head to the India section of the park… There “Bengal Kiosk” has made place for “Bengali Snacks”. This colorful new food outlet immediately draws your attention when you walk up to it. The several terraces and covered seating area look very inviting and the menu is quite extensive. [NL] Het laatste nieuwe horecapunt die we bezoeken [NL] Het laatste nieuwe horecapunt die we bezoeken in Dock World is “Le Phare Ouest”. Hier mist nog de vuurtoren als eyecatcher, maar de achtergelegen vlonder geeft prachtige uitzichten op “Port du Wavre”. Je kan er frisdranken, Ola-ijsjes, pannenkoeken, wafels en nacho’s met dipsaus kopen. In vergelijking met de andere twee locaties was hier geen item die onze aandacht trok. We hebben hier dus (nog) niks uitgeprobeerd. Maar met “Le Phare Ouest”, “Pêche et Mignon” en “Hungry Sharky” heeft Dock World een vrij volledig en gevarieerd aanbod. We kijken er alvast naar uit om tijdens zonnige dagen te genieten van nacho’s met een frisse pint aan de vuurtoren, een goeie portie Fish & Chips met uitzicht op het meer en een heerlijk ijsje alvorens aan te schuiven voor een nog ritje op Mecalodon. Dock World is naar onze mening een schot in de roos voor Walibi Belgium. Allen daarheen dus! [ENG] The last of three new food and beverage locations is “Le Phare Ouest”. And tough the signature lighthouse is missing at the moment, this location already looks stunning. With great views of “Port du Wavre” on the dock behind this food outlet. Here you can enjoy bottled sodas and beers, a selection of ice creams, crêpes, Belgian waffles and nachos with dipping sauce. We didn’t try any of the items here (yet) but can’t wait to snack on a serving of nachos with a fresh beer overlooking the “Port du Wavre”. With “Le Phare Ouest”, “Pêche et Mignon” and “Hungry Sharky” there is a well rounded choice of food in Dock World. We will be coming back for more, enjoying more meals at “Hungry Sharky” overlooking the Walibi lake, have a dessert at “Pêche et Mignon” before entering the queue for “Mecalodon” and just overall enjoy Dock World. Ze verkopen softijs in drie verschillende variatiesd, Fanta Frozen, frisdranken, bier en zoete popcorn(ook in het blauw). Wij kozen voor de softijscoupe “Shark Attack”. Vanillesoftijs met aarbeisaus, gummiehaaien en een eetbaar lepeltje. Erg lekker, maar met een prijs van 7 euro best duur. [ENG] The second food and beverage location you encounter as you walk into Dock World from Fun World is “Pêche et Mignon”. This location sells Soft Ice in three varations, bottled sodas and beers, Belgian waffles, Fanta Frozen and sweet popcorn(also with blue food coloring). We decided to try the “Shark Attack”; Vanilla Soft Ice with strawberry sauce, gummy sharks and an edible spoon. [NL] Het menu in “Hungry Sharky” bestaat uit Fish [NL] Het menu in “Hungry Sharky” bestaat uit Fish & Chips, Shrimpburger of Pulled beefburger en verschillende Pokébowls. Voornamelijk de Fish & Chips hebben een goeie prijs-kwaliteitverhouding. Erg grote portie, lekker gebakken vis en goeie tartaarsaus. De Shrimpburger is ook erg groot, de frietjes leuk gepresenteerd in een blik en de menuformule is met drank en saus inbegrepen. We probeerden ook de Pokebowl met fried chicken. Daar was de rijst wat platgekookt en er was ook geen dressing of saus voor de groenten, enkel wat saus op de kip. De kip was wel goed gebakken met een lekkere krokante korst en voldoende verse groenten. Een toppertje erbij op horecagebied in Walibi Belgium! [ENG] For lunch we tried several of the dishes at “Hungry Sharky”. The menu consists of Fish and Chips, Shrimp or pulled beefburger and a variety of pokebowls. We absolutely loved the Fish and Chips! A great portion of chips, a decent piece of fried fish and nice tartar sauce. Great value for money! The shrimp burger has carrots, beets and white sauce. The menu comes with a side of chips, served in a can, a dipping sauce and a drink. Also a great choice here. The pokebowl had nice and crispy fried chicken but the rice was overcooked. You get a generous serving of fresh vegetables but the pokebowl was missing a dressing or sauce to bring it all together. Bij Huey, Duey and Louie’s Good Time Café probeerden we de Egg and chicken sandwich met Chinese Bun(in de vorm van Mickey’s handschoenen), Broodje garnaal(in de vorm van Donald’s poot) en een Spring Roll. Little Green Dumplings. Schattige, zoete en vooral Little Green Dumplings. Schattige, zoete en vooral goedkope snack. Mooi op foto maar ik hield niet zo van het “mochi”-omhulsel. De vulling is een soort pudding met aarbei-, chocolade- of vanillesmaak. Tip: maak gebruik van Mobile Order. Het bespaart je heel wat wachttijd! Litte Green Dumplings. Cute, cheap, sweet but i personally did not like them that much… The mochi-like dumplings come with custard in strawberry, chocolate and vanilla flavor.
